Since Cutting Edge Communications started publishing Chart magazine in 2005, (as Casey Tennyson notes “when Chart ate my life,”) most of the resources of the ad agency went towards the magazine and promotions. Many smaller clients benefited from national quality ad creation as advertisers in the magazine. During this time, Cutting Edge has also published books.

HIGHLIGHTS of a few clients during the Chart Winter Park decade, 2005 – 2015:

Fall 2011, Dick Batchelor Management Company hired Cutting Edge for a project, “How to be a Child Advocate.” The project included a brochure, booklet and online marketing tools. Cutting Edge coordinated art illustrations for the graphics with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida with the ABC Program (Art By Coalition children) which Mr. Batchelor helped to start.

Fall 2011, IDEA, Inc. hired Cutting Edge for public relations for an international design award for the Historic Port of Falmouth in Jamaica.

2007 to present, Full service ad agency work, S. Keith Mahan, D.D.S. — Dr. and Mrs. Mahan said the main reason people choose their practice is that their patients experience little or no pain but they couldn’t legally say “no pain.” Cutting Edge could! Cutting Edge had Chart-ists create sailboat paintings for the lobby that was being revamped for the new dental practice. Cutting Edge created the campaign “Smooth Sailing” with soothing artistic sailboat images in all the advertising and suggested Jimmy Buffet music and a water feature in the lobby. The Mahans bought an office full of sailboat art from Chart charity art and the business relationship set sail. The best part? Dr. Mahan is an avid sailor so with the ad campaign, he combined his two passions.

Casey Tennyson created the strategy for the UCF graduate program print and TV campaign in 2007. UCF wanted to brand itself as the university as a leader in technology and research with growth in targeted majors. Casey outlined the creative strategy of using prominent local UCF graduates in the targeted fields of study, with the headline “He/she has a major advantage.”
